9 The Jews Destroy Their Enemies 1 Now in the twelfth month (that is, the month Adar), on the thirteenth day when the king's command and edict were about to be executed, on the day when the enemies of the Jews hoped to gain the mastery over them, it was turned to the contrary so that the Jews themselves gained the mastery over those who hated.

God Gives Most

1For ait is superfluous for me to write to you about this bministry to the 1saints;

2for I know your readiness, of which I aboast about you to the bMacedonians, namely, that cAchaia has been prepared since dlast year, and your zeal has stirred up most of them.

3But I have sent the brethren, in order that our aboasting about you may not be made empty in this case, so that, bas I was saying, you may be prepared;

4otherwise if any aMacedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to speak of you—will be put to shame by this confidence.

5So I thought it necessary to urge the abrethren that they would go on ahead to you and arrange beforehand your previously promised 1bbountiful gift, so that the same would be ready as a 1cbountiful gift and not 2daffected by covetousness.

6Now this I say,ahe who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows 1bountifully will also reap 1bountifully.

7Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not agrudgingly or under compulsion, for bGod loves a cheerful giver.

8And aGod is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;

9as it is written, Cosmic brush pro 2 13 1.

'aHe scattered abroad, he gave to the poor,

His righteousness1endures forever.'

10Now He who supplies aseed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and bincrease the harvest of your righteousness;

11you will be aenriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing bthanksgiving to God.

12For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying athe needs of the 1saints, but is also overflowing bthrough many thanksgivings to God.

13Because of the proof given by this aministry, they will bglorify God for your obedience to your cconfession of the dgospel of Christ and for the liberality of your 1contribution to them and to all,

14while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

15aThanks be to God for His indescribable bgift!

The Prophet Azariah Warns Asa

Bookmacster 2 9 15 Nasb King James Version

1Now the Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded, 2and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, 'Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. 3'For many days Israel was without the true God and without a teaching priest and without law. 4'But in their distress they turned to the L

6'Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every kind of distress. 7'But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work.'

Asa's Reforms
8Now when Asa heard these words and the prophecy which Azariah the son of Oded the prophet spoke, he took courage and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. He then restored the altar of the LORD which was in front of the porch of the LORD. 9He gathered all Judah and Benjamin and those from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who resided with them, for many defected to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him. 10So they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa's reign. 11They sacrificed to the LORD that day 700 oxen and 7,000 sheep from the spoil they had brought. 12They entered into the covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and soul; 13and whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman. 14Moreover, they made an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets and with horns. 15All Judah rejoiced concerning the oath, for they had sworn with their whole heart and had sought Him earnestly, and He let them find Him. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.

16He also removed Maacah, the mother of King Asa, from the position of queen mother, because she had made a horrid image as an Asherah, and Asa cut down her horrid image, crushed it and burned it at the brook Kidron. 17But the high places were not removed from Israel; nevertheless Asa's heart was blameless all his days. 18He brought into the house of God the dedicated things of his father and his own dedicated things: silver and gold and utensils. 19 Jprofiler 10 1 1 – java based applications. And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa's reign.
